"Kids Learn to Fish Day"
On behalf of the Cowichan Fly Fishers and the Freshwater Fisheries Society, we would like to thank you for your generous donation towards our 5th Annual “Kids Learn to Fish Day” which took place May 7th at Chemainus Lake.
In spite of unsettled weather, this year we had over 209 kids and their families who turn out to “Learn to Fish”. It was an awesome day! Many fish were caught, cleaned and taken home. If not taken home, the fish were released back into the lake for someone else to catch. Even the kids who were unsuccessful at catching a fish still had a great time learning about fish ID, rods and reels, how to cast, tie knots and the catch and release process. Everyone enjoyed checking of the Conservation Officers’ All-Terrain Vehicle!
Every child there, thanks to all the sponsors and donations, took home a prize! Your contribution definitely helped make this event a wonderful experience for all the families.

We look forward to your continued support as we hope next year’s event taking place on May 5th, 2012, will be even bigger and better!
Sincerely,
Jim Block and Maggie Davenport
